Mission Africa has adopted a strategy of reproduction and multiplication.
Reproduction - Everything we do in ministry is intentionally designed to be reproducible - that is, those we are reaching and training are able to reproduce what they have received from us and in the same manner we have shared it. This is a key element in all ministry. If we use methods and systems that are not reproducible by those we are reaching, our ministries will end with us and not be passed on to others. This aspect of our strategy is based on the Law of Reproduction as illustrated in Genesis 1:27-28. This law (or principle) states that God reproduced Himself in man (His likeness not His divine essence) with the intention that man should reproduce by being fruitful and multiplying, which was God's first blessing and commandment for man. This theme of reproduction is evident throughout Scripture and is the key principle behind the Great Commission.
Multiplication - In ministry addition is one or a few reaching others (Acts 2:41, 47). In multiplication, many people reach others and continue the process for multiple generations. We use a strategy of intentional multiplication, placing as much emphasis on the second, third, and fourth generation disciples as we do on the first generation. The power of intentional multiplication in a local church means that any local church, regardless of its size, property, or finances, can double its membership every three months by intentionally shifting its emphasis to making disciples and equipping its members to make disciples. This means that a church of 30 members could realistically increase to 60 in the first three months (or less), 120 in the next three months, 240 in the next three, and 480 by the end of one year.
Radical growth requires radical changes however. This type of consistent, intentional multiplication can only be achieved in an atmosphere of discipleship, small group and individual training, and leadership development. The good news is that the strategy of reproduction and multiplication is not a formula or method, can be adapted to any situation, location, or culture, and costs absolutely nothing! The bad news is that any pastor wishing to implement this strategy will have to surrender his right to build a ministry that is dominated and dependent on him. If you are ready to surrender, we are ready to show you how to do it.
