What Does Mission Africa Do?

Mission Africa helps churches and leaders catch the vision of the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20 to make disciples and plant churches.

Mission Africa connects churches and leaders together through its web site, its workshops and conferences, and through its prayer network.

Mission Africa trains leaders, pastors, Christian workers, churches, and organizations through its Church Multiplication Training Ministry (CMTM).

What Does Mission Africa Not Do?

Mission Africa does not give financial support.

Mission Africa does not encourage African church planters or pastors to use expensive, resource-intensive western-style methods of ministry. These methods make African churches and leaders dependent on their western brothers, do not work well in the African context because they are not generally reproducible by Africans, and are not sustainable by African churches. The average African congregation does not have the money, resources, or training to maintain a western-style church that is centered on a building, services, and equipment. In addition, the western church model has developed around the redemptive gifts God has given to the West (such as teaching, organization, leadership, and an abundance of resources). It is a model that does not support or release those redemptive gifts which have been given to Africa (such as evangelism, community, song, and dance).
